The Herniated Disc

All stages of spinal degeneration in one clear anatomy chart.

Getting your patients to understand the stages of spinal degeneration can be difficult (and time-consuming). This chart visualises the pathology in a clean and attractive design and will assist you with patient education on a daily basis.

A herniated disc, also known as a slipped or ruptured disc, occurs when the soft inner gel of the spinal disc leaks out through a tear or crack in the outer layer, putting pressure on nearby nerves and causing pain, numbness, and weakness in the back, legs, or arms. The condition can be caused by age-related wear and tear, injury, or excessive strain on the spine, and symptoms may include sharp pain, tingling or burning sensations, muscle weakness, and limited mobility.
