ANS Network Map Set

Two networks. One autonomic story.
The Autonomic Nervous System Network Map Set brings the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nervous systems into one coordinated visual language, revealing two distinct networks that continuously shape the body’s internal balance.

Follow each division from its origins through pathways and relays to target organs and physiological function, and see how autonomic control is built from a remarkable sequence of connections. Rather than reducing the system to the familiar shorthand of “fight or flight” and “rest and digest”, the maps reveal the deeper architecture behind those responses: two complementary networks, different in organisation, yet constantly working across the same body.

Shared organs. Different instructions.
Both charts use the same visual geography, making sympathetic and parasympathetic influence directly comparable across the eye, glands, heart, lungs, digestive organs, colon, bladder and erectile tissue. The sympathetic chart also includes its characteristic pathways to the adrenal medulla and kidney.

Where anatomy becomes physiology.
The final FUNCTION level connects each pathway to its physiological effects, creating a continuous route from origin to pathway, relay, target organ and function.

Two sides of autonomic control.
The two maps share a common visual geography, allowing sympathetic and parasympathetic pathways to be read in direct relationship to one another. The anatomy remains distinct, but the connections, shared organs and contrasting physiological effects begin to form a larger picture.

Two networks, constantly shaping the same internal world.

How this chart supports patient education.
Designed for Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Neurologists, Physicians, Anatomy Educators and Rehabilitation professionals, the ANS Network Map Set supports clear explanations of autonomic pathways, organ regulation and the connections between the nervous system and cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive function.

🎁 The perfect gift for anyone who finds the autonomic nervous system genuinely fascinating — equal parts clinical reference, visual obsession and beautifully organised complexity.

Introducing our series of Anatomical Network Maps.
The human body is not a collection of isolated structures. It is a connected system of routes, junctions and outcomes. Inspired by the visual logic of transit maps, the new Network Map series by educare.design transforms complex anatomical pathways into organised visual systems: Roots become routes. Structures become stations. Functions become destinations. Each chart preserves the essential anatomy while making the connections easier to see, follow and explain.
