This is the perfect focal point when alleviating pregnancy discomfort. During pregnancy, a woman’s body goes through various physiological changes, including postural changes. As the baby grows, the woman’s centre of gravity shifts forward, causing an increased curving of the lower back and a protruding abdomen. This can lead to an altered posture, with a forward tilt of the pelvis and an increased curvature of the spine. These postural changes can result in discomfort or pain in the lower back, hips, and pelvis, but can be managed through posture correction, exercise, and the use of support devices.

The artwork succinctly shows the immense structural changes a woman’s body will undergo during pregnancy and it will easily convey the need for correct physical preparation during and after the four trimesters. With the clever incorporation of a 1:1 measuring ruler (see gallery images), you can talk your patients through the changes and help them manage their expectations – as well as illustrating the inevitable pressures on the vertebral curves and pelvis.

Please note that the artwork contains a 1:1 ruler with indications in centimetres and inches that shows progression of a fetus in length and weight (gram and ounces). This ruler will be adjusted to the size of artwork you purchase to ensure a correct 1:1 measurement tool. For this reason this artwork is not available in A3 format and ruler is excluded from the square canvas and square digital PDF option. We furthermore ask that you print the digital versions in the intended size (should you choose digital). We will confirm this with you when ordering, so that you will get the optimal experience with this artwork.
