๐ฃ๏ธ A Conversation with the Designer
Q: What inspired you to reimagine anatomy art for the modern clinic?
A: โIโve always believed that design isnโt just about decoration โ itโs about communication. When I looked at traditional anatomy posters, they felt like relics from another era: overloaded, clinical, and sometimes intimidating for patients. I wanted to create something that felt calm, confident, and truly helpful โ a visual language that belongs in todayโs clinics, where clarity builds trust.โ
Q: You often talk about โdesign empathyโ. What does that mean in your work?
A: โIt means listening before creating. Every chart begins with the question: how can we make this instantly understandable to someone without medical training โ without losing scientific precision? Itโs a balance between information and feeling. I think thatโs where real design lives โ somewhere between knowledge and emotion.โ
Q: Language seems to be an essential part of educare.design. Why so?
A: โBecause clarity has a mother tongue. Every chart is available in up to ten languages โ not as a literal translation, but as cultural clarity. A chiropractor in Copenhagen doesnโt explain things the same way a physiotherapist in Rome does. By offering visual consistency and linguistic adaptability, we make sure the message reaches every patient, everywhere.โ
Q: How do you ensure scientific accuracy without losing aesthetic simplicity?
A: โItโs the hardest part โ and the most rewarding. I work closely with professionals to make sure every line, connection, and label is correct. But once that structure is right, I remove everything thatโs not essential. The human body is already beautiful โ good design just helps it speak more clearly.โ
Q: What does success look like for you as a designer?
A: โWhen a patient points to a chart and says โAh, now I get it.โ That moment of understanding is what drives me. If design can make medicine more approachable โ thatโs success.โ
