It can support explanations of peripheral nerve pathways, lower-limb movement, gait, sensory distribution and the anatomical relationships behind nerve-related symptoms and injuries.

ℹ Introducing our series of Anatomical Network Maps.
The human body is not a collection of isolated structures. It is a connected system of routes, junctions and outcomes. Inspired by the visual logic of transit maps, the new Network Map series by educare.design transforms complex anatomical pathways into organised visual systems: Roots become routes. Structures become stations. Functions become destinations. Each chart preserves the essential anatomy while making the connections easier to see, follow and explain.

Complex pathways. Clear organisation.
The Lumbosacral Plexus Network Map brings structure to the interconnected nerve pathways supplying the pelvis and lower limb, turning a difficult anatomical system into a clear, traceable network.

Colour-coded roots from L1 to S4 can be followed as they form the lumbar and sacral plexuses, connect through the lumbosacral trunk and continue into the major peripheral nerves of the lower limb.

Nine roots. Two plexuses. One lumbosacral trunk. Thirteen major nerves.
The chart makes it possible to see how individual spinal roots contribute to nerves including the Femoral, Obturator, Sciatic, Tibial, Common Fibular, Superior and Inferior Gluteal and Pudendal nerves, together with selected additional branches of the lumbar and sacral plexuses.

Rather than viewing each nerve in isolation, the Network Map reveals how the pathways overlap, separate and continue through the wider system.

From spinal roots to lower-limb function.
The final FUNCTION level connects the network to key motor and sensory roles, including:

Hip movement and pelvic stabilisation.
Knee flexion and extension.
Ankle and foot movement.
Toe flexion and extension.
Gait control and propulsion.
Sensory territories of the thigh, leg and foot.
Pelvic floor, sphincter and genital function.

This allows the viewer to move continuously from root to plexus, nerve and function.

The Lumbosacral Plexus is often difficult to understand because multiple spinal roots contribute to multiple peripheral nerves across a large anatomical region. The Network Map reorganises these relationships around connection, contribution and destination, while persistent root colours make each pathway easier to trace from beginning to end.

The result is a chart that helps clarify not only which nerve goes where, but also which roots contribute to it and what functions ultimately depend on that pathway.

Extend the Network.
This chart forms a natural pair with the Brachial Plexus Network Map. Together, they map the major nerve networks of the upper and lower limbs using the same visual language, root-based colour system and route-to-function approach; creating a coordinated overview of how spinal roots become the peripheral nerves that control movement and sensation throughout the limbs. View image in gallery to see how well they go together!

View this chart here on YouTube.

🇺🇸 View more details of the English version.
🇮🇹 Vedi i dettagli della versione italiana.
🇪🇸 Ver detalles de la versión en español.
🇩🇪 Details zur deutschen Version anzeigen.
🇫🇷 Voir les détails de la version française.
🇳🇱 Bekijk details van de Nederlandse versie.
🇵🇹 Veja mais detalhes da versão portuguesa.
🇸🇪 Se fler detaljer om den svenska versionen.
🇳🇴 Se flere detaljer om den norske versjonen.
🇩🇰 Se flere detaljer fra den danske version.

Make it part of your clinic!
⬇ Order here.

[47
502
post-36249","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-anatomy","product_tag-nervous-system","first","instock","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-variable","has-default-attributes
["GET
