Temporomandibular joint disorder and symptoms.
TMJ disorder is a condition that affects the joints and muscles of the jaw. It can cause pain, discomfort, and difficulty in talking, eating, and even sleeping. Increasing awareness about TMJ disorder is vital as it helps individuals recognise the symptoms and seek early intervention. Education on its causes, such as teeth grinding, jaw misalignment, or stress, can enable people to adopt preventive measures like stress management techniques, wearing a mouthguard, or practicing jaw exercises to alleviate symptoms. It is our hope that this artwork can play an even small role in raising awareness and subsequent knowledge about available treatments, including physical therapy, medications, or dental interventions, which can encourage individuals to seek appropriate medical help and improve their quality of life.
