Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and cognitive difficulties. One distinguishing feature of fibromyalgia is the presence of tender points at specific locations on the body that are sensitive to pressure. These tender points are usually found in areas such as the neck, shoulders, chest, lower back, hips, and knees. In addition to pain and tender points, symptoms of fibromyalgia can include sleep disturbances, headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, and depression. Our intention with this artwork has been to raise awareness about fibromyalgia and its tender points in order to help individuals understand their symptoms, seek appropriate medical help, and access support for managing this often misunderstood condition.
