What’s Neck Muscles?
The neck muscles consist of several layers and groups, including the superficial muscles such as the trapezius, sternocleidomastoid, and platysma. These muscles are responsible for movements of the head and neck, including rotation, flexion, and extension. Deeper muscles, such as the scalenes, longus colli, and splenius cervicis, assist in stabilising and supporting the neck. Understanding the anatomy of these muscles is crucial for diagnosing and treating various neck-related conditions and injuries.
